At the Perth Tuition Centre, we emphasise the positive aspects with every child so that outright failure is eliminated. Children do try when they know they can be successful, and, as all work is being set at an appropriate level, our students quickly realise that they can have success as they work their way through their own individual programmes and are not competing with others. All of our programmes are designed to give students the motivation to succeed. We start at the child’s current ability and progress at every child’s own pace so that each child is challenged – but never overwhelmed. Time is allowed for all concepts to be thoroughly understood before progressing to the next stage.
In August of 2012, both Centres ceased operating as KMEC franchises to become independent Tuition Centres. While the name has changed and key resources have been updated, our team’s values and commitment to our students and their families remain as always – to provide the best in every possible way for our students.
Throughout a highly successful teaching career spanning over twenty-five years, Lillian has gained wide-ranging experience of working with children of all ages and abilities. During her fifteen years as a headteacher, she was additionally involved in developmental work for the 5-14 Assessment Unit – writing and vetting National Tests and serving on the Language Panel of the Scottish Examinations Board.
All tutoring staff at the Perth Tuition Centre are highly qualified teachers – primary and secondary – all registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland. They are, therefore, experienced in the Scottish Curriculum and the courses of study being followed in our schools. Our robust recruitment procedures ensure that all staff members have a proven track record which includes an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Check.
